Here are some test shots of my Triumph showing how
different camera setting can change the look and feel of
a picture. |

This was shot with a Nikon Coolpix A Point & Shoot
camera. Handy to throw in a pocket and get some nice
pictures but even with manual adjustments you can't get
the same effects as with a DSLR and lens. With a fixed
pretty wide focal length the background is still very
sharp. Great for landscape photos but not always what
you want for a portrait.

This was Shot with a Nikon D750 with a 24-70mm lens @
24mm. This was shot to get the greatest depth of field.
You can see the house and truck partked on the street in
the background are still pretty sharp.

This is an Shot with a Nikon D750 with a 24-70mm lens @
24mm. This shot was shot at the other extreme with the
lens opened up and here you start to see the background
blurred more then the picture above.

This is an Shot with a Nikon D750 with a 70-200mm lens @
200mm. The bike wasn't moved but with the 200mm lens I
was able to step further away from the bike and
narrowing down the background to remove some of the
distractions. With the aperture opened all the way up
and the 200mm lens you can so a nice job of blurring the
background which is nice if you have a distracting
background or want to make the subject punch out of the
picture more.

This is an Shot with a Nikon D750 with a 70-200mm lens @
200mm using a polarizing filter which cuts the
reflection off the side of the car. It was also
converted to a B&W filter.

reflection on the side of the car is still there.
